Snow UK airport updates

LATEST FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS:

Heathrow Airport cancelled at least 80 flights on Thursday 12.01.16 as cold weather spreads to the south of the UK.

The airport warned passengers: “Wintery weather is expected at the airport today and airlines will be adjusting their schedules as a result.”

British Airways has already cancelled at least 60 flights due to the snow forecast this afternoon and evening at London airports.

BA said the number of planes allowed to land at Heathrow would be “significantly reduced” due to snow and ice on the runways.

It told passengers: “Snow and wintry weather will affect flights at London’s airports today. Snow is forecast to affect some flights at Heathrow.”

Gatwick Airport has cancelled at least four flights and warned: “Snow and poor weather may cause delays and cancellations to flights today.

“Please check the status of flights with your airline before travel.”
